Can't Catch a Break

Have you ever had one of those times in your life where you feel like you just can't catch a break? I remember last Fall, proudly boasting that my kids never get sick. I think the Lord has ways of humbling you and helping you to develop empathy for others. Its only March and we've already gone through half of our medical flex spending account. It seems like its one thing after another with someone in our family. This weekend we all came down with something nasty. All the boys just had coughs and runny noses, but I was the lucky one who also got a sore throat, fever with sweats and chills, and an achy body (of course the achy body might have more to do with my new workout than anything else!) It just hasn't been our year for staying healthy, and I'm pretty sure that we are close to being put on the inactive list at church. In all of our married life, we've never missed church so much as we have the past two months!

On a different note, Carson spent the night at his cousins' house Friday night and so Jeff and I were left with just these two little guys.It was amazing how much quieter it was, but we sure did miss our rambunctious little 4 year old. He spent the night with his cousins' because Saturday morning Grandpa Larry took the boys to Disney on Ice.

Carson was super excited to see these guys....

and especially this guy.
I was not so excited, however, to find that my camera (that I sent with them) came back broken. It will still take pictures (which I am very thankful for), but I can't zoom, change settings, or review my pictures. Arghhh, like I said, we just can't catch a break...
The good news is that we get to go to Idaho on Friday. We haven't been home in almost six months!

Isn't it amazing how when it rains, it pours? I felt like that was us last year! We were in the doctors office almost every week for two months! Hurray for flex plans!!!

Yuck. So sorry you've been feeling so crappy. Keeping my fingers crossed we don't get it, but it's been a few days so I'm thinking we might be ok.
I know what you mean about not being able to catch a break. It's been money and cars for us. :(
I guess there's something to be learned from all of this. Does your insurance company have an out of pocket maximum for the year? You might want to look into it.
Disney on Ice looks like it was fun! Sorry your camera came back broken, that really stinks.

Hope you are feeling better. I know what you mean about being inactive at church. I am sure that you are excited to be coming home this weekend.
