Boy of 1,000 Questions

I think I've given birth to a genius. Well, actually three of them, but the oldest one is starting to show me just how smart he is. Or curious. This kid LOVES science. I'm not kidding. We were in Hobby Lobby the other day and he goes straight to the aisle that has all the little science project kits and starts begging for one that I know is way over his head. Monday I found him in the bathroom, the sink full of water, and him dropping various items into the water. A simple, "I was trying to see which things floated and which sunk" answered my questioning look.

Anyways, my days are filled with this kid constantly peppering me with questions. He wants to know how everything works...and he doesn't want a simplified answer. He wants to know the details. A few days ago we were watching TV and they said something about cancer. That launched us into this huge discussion on it and how the cells in our body can sometimes grow wrong. When I thought we were done I hear him ask me, "But why? Why do the cells grow wrong, what causes them to do that?" So then we talked about carcinogens and then he says, "But why?" This kid wants an explanation that only a doctor could give. A lot of the times I can't give him the answers he wants and so we go online and look for them. The other day he wanted to know how crayons are made so we found a video that explained it.

Somedays I wish I knew the answers to questions like "What holds the clouds up in the sky?". But for now I am keeping very busy looking up answers to some very intriguing questions!

Aren't the wheels in their heads AMAZING?! Tanner is getting to be the same way. He won't settle for simple answers. He's deep, and wants to know everything, and the meaning of everything. *sigh* WE have some good boys. :)

My boys are the same! Constantly asking questions! We spent a whole morning learning about bats and that lead to other animals! Great job answering his questions!

It is crazy how much they can truly understand at such a young age. Good luck with your answers.
