Shaving Cream Painting

I have this activity chart I made for Carson and everyday we do different art, reading, and music activities. Today on our list was shaving cream painting. I'd done this activity before in the Preschool and thought it would be fun to try. I also found the activity in a book I have called Things to do With Toddlers and Twos so I thought it would be developmentally appropriate. Well, I guess I can sum up our experience by saying that Carson loved the texture of shaving cream! After he got bored painting the butcher paper, he used himself as a canvas. I'm thankful I decided to let him paint in just his underwear... I thought it might get a little messy! I'd been pretty strict about making him use paint brushes, but yesterday I decided to let him fingerpaint and explore textures. Well, I am just hoping that I can convince him he doesn't have to paint with his fingers everyday from now on!
