Potty Training Help
Ok, so I need some help from mothers out there who've mastered the potty training thing. Carson has been doing very well with potty training and is spending his days in underwear now, but we do have a few hang-ups. Here goes: he refuses to poop in the potty. I feel like I've tried everything in the book to get him to do it. Well sit him on the potty and read and sing to him, but no matter how long we wait, he won't go. I put him in a diaper at night because he still wakes up wet and he will usually poop in his diaper first thing in the morning. Then I have the wonderful responsibility of cleaning poop out of his underwear sometime during the day. I try to watch for signs that he needs to go, but usually can't tell. Its like he'll just poop while he's walking around. He doesn't usually strain or go find a private place to poop. Any ideas of what I can do?? Also, he is really good at peeing in the potty, as long as I remind him every hour or so to do it. Last night I had the choice experience of him peeing on my couch because I forgot to remind him to use the potty (Jeff was gone helping the Snedakers move some stuff, so yes I had to clean it!). How long does it take before they start recognizing their body signals?? Overall I think we are doing really well, and maybe I am just wishing he would be completley potty trained in a week. I know accidents happen (after all it is called potty training), but I am sick of scrubbing poopy underwear! Any advice would help!

we used peez. when she did good i gave her a princes peez and she loved it. I just made a big deal out of getting the candy and it helped her but i had to still reminder her to take a minute, stop playing (that is the hard part having them stop playing or taking them away from what they are doing ) but once we got the candy we had less and less and now hame free. good luck hang in there he will get it and then soon you will have another baby to start all over with:)
We still have to remind Peter to go and even have to drag him in to go sometimes. But that's only when we are at home, at other peoples homes he always tells us. No advice on the pooping thing. That's Peter favorite part. He loves to hear the splash and wipe. Good Luck!
It took Mya a while to get the pooping part of potty training down too. She was addicted to the princess movies at the time so we went and bought her some princess panties and told her that princesses poop in the potty and that we want to keep the princess panties clean and nice. She improved a lot after that but still had some accidents every once in a while. If there is a movie that he likes maybe you could try that.
We aren't really to this stage yet, but Supernanny says that children will potty train themselves when they are ready. It sounds like Carson is already doing awesome job. I think if you just keep positive encouragement coming his way it will come sooner than you think. I'm sorry that you've had to deal with cleaning poop out of underwear, that's hard, especially when you are pregnant. I got the Supernanny book and I LOVE it, she has so many great ideas from eating & toilet training to sleeping & disciplining. Tell Jeff thanks for helping us move. I can't believe we are gone, makes me sad. I think we all need to get together and go to dinner or let the boys play. I will call you at the first of next week so we can figure something out!! I can't believe you are 27 weeks too! Time sure flies when you aren't the one pregnant, lol. Almost to the 3rd trimester!!
