Sigh of Relief

Today I'm finally breathing a sigh of relief. The past few days have been filled with mishaps and stress, but I feel like I am finally starting to get on top of things again.

To start off with, I am breathing a very HUGE sigh of relief at the results of my ultrasound today. A while back, I had found a lump on my breast (TMI? sorry) and went to see my OB/GYN about it at the end of May. She ordered an ultrasound and this week I finally got around to making the appointment. I'm super paranoid about breast cancer as two of my great-grandmothers died of it. Anyways, today I went in and the ultrasound tech couldn't find anything. She had the radiologist come in and he told me that it was a lump of fibrous tissue...in other words, a lump milk glands all together. That definitely brought a smile to my face because I had been so worried about it.

After spending most of the day in SLC with my sister in law, I came home to find a box on my doorstep. It was from my mom and full of stuff we had left at her house...plus a jelly roll, charm pack and two fat quarters of Moda's Simplicity by 3 Sisters. That added a little sunshine to my day! Now, what to make with it...

I've been working on a quilt for Jeff's little sister's wedding. Last weekend I did a lot of applique and then this week I started to blanket stitch around it. All of the sudden my machine started skipping stitches and acting funny. Come to find out, I had used the wrong type of heat n bond and it was gumming up my needle. I felt silly that I hadn't made sure to use the right type and overwhelmed at the fact that I would now be behind on my quilt. After putting it away for a few days, I am ready to pull it all off and start again, this time with some wonder under. After all the circles are done, I have to do some flowers and a big monogram...
much like the one on this quilt.

Oh, and one last thing. I've been lazy the past few months and haven't sold much Scentsy. If I don't place a big enough order this month I am terminated. So, if you need or want anything this month, I am offering a free mini spatula with any order (they are to scrape the wax out of the dish, in case you were wondering!). So, if I see on my website that you ordered, I'll pop one of these little cuties into an envelope and send it your way. Spread the word...I need orders...okay, enough of the shameless begging. And so I don't get in trouble with Scentsy: "Please visit my website https://sbirch.scentsy.us/ for my monthly promotions and to place your order"....yada yada yada.

Scary about the lump. I am bad with self exams and remember going to the OB when I was nursing Rowan for a yearly checkup. He told me you tend to be a lot more lumpy when you are nursing because of glands. Glad that everything turned out ok, I'm sure that was so so stressful. Your quilt is adorable. That's awesome to be able to have a skill like that! And I hope you get lots of orders for Scentsy. I have to get an order in next month and I'm not quite sure how I'm going to swing it either at this point.
See you tonight!

Oh so much to make with the fabric!!! You are very lucky to get that in the mail!!! AT least with your sewing machine you know what the problem is! I hate trying to go through everything and finding what is causing the problem!!! I know that you can wash your needles if that helps :D
