We finally planted our garden on Monday for FHE. I know, we are way late, but better late than never, right? We've been busy focusing on getting our sprinkler system in, the sandbox finished, and our yard planted, so the garden was put on the back burner. Finally on Saturday, we were able to get out and till up our garden area. Yep, we did it the old fashioned way with garden hoe's...we just couldn't justify renting a tiller when a little elbow grease would do the trick.
Monday night I did a lesson based on President Benson's talk Prepare for the Days of Tribulation and then we went outside and planted our garden. Its not much, but hopefully this Fall we will have: butternut squash, pumpkins, carrots, peas, corn, chives, and cilantro...and hopefully more in years to come.
There really is something satisfying about getting out and digging in the dirt and striving to become more self sufficient!
