A few times a month, we do a "movie night" at our house. Since I tend to limit our television time to around 5 hours a week, its a special treat for the boys to stay up late and watch a movie. I wanted to make last week's movie night even more special, and saw an idea on Pinterest about making drive-in movie cars for your kids. I showed Carson, and he immediately grabbed a box and started planning out his car. So last Friday we spent the afternoon making our cars. We ended up with a tank, train, and dump truck. The dump truck needed some more work, but we ran out of time.
I set up a "concession stand" in the kitchen where we served soda, popcorn, and M & M's. We made the boys go out on the front porch and hand us their "ticket" as they came in the door. They were so excited and loved the extra touches to movie night.
We are planning on doing our "drive-in" again soon, but next time we want to borrow our cousin's outside projector and do the movie in the back yard to make it feel more like a drive-in.
